Enough with the sinuses already

Still sick.

Still bored.

I got some soup from the Vietnamese restaurant.

Yum.

What illness looks like at my house

I came home from work early yesterday and stayed home today. This is usually unheard of for me.

When I worked for the insurance company, we didn’t have sick days – we just had one big bank of days off – they were vacation or sick days. So I never took sick days because then I couldn’t go on vacation.

Back in college, I didn’t skip classes or take days off either. Engineering classes are hard enough – missing classes was the LAST thing I needed to do.

So, today, it’s very hard for me to take a sick day. I always rationalize that with enough Advil, I can “tough it out”. Its only eight hours, right?

So here’s how I’m spending the day:

I’ve got two sleeping dogs (one is under the blanket), my iBook, some coffee with whipped cream, water, and my couch. Now all I need is clear sinuses.

*sniff*

What happens when an engineer’s husband tells her there’s a birds nest that has fallen out of the pine tree?

She reinforces the nest with yarn, and says a prayer that momma bird comes back for her babies.
